Immersion for saxophone Needham Series 1988, 14:53 min
Immersion derives from a computer-generated score produced with the aid of PRECOMP, a Macintosh adaptation of G.M. Koenig’s Project One program. It is a piece of interpretive composition, in that the alphanumeric score data produced by the program is interpreted by the composer for a particular instrument.
Immersion was commissioned by Choreo Dance Company for a choreography by Peggy Brightman. The performance heard here is by Clint Smith, New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA., in 1990.
