Electronic Music

Introduction to Electronic Music

My electronic music is both dramatic and lyrical. Throughout its development I gradually moved from a syntax/score-centric to a sound-focused way of working. This development was entirely a function of existing technology which kept transforming over thirty years, requiring me to transfer my work from tape to DAT to CD to Streaming. Between 1970 and 1990, the music was composed in various computer music studios in the U.S. and Europe, and in the composer’s own studio only after 1990.

To listen to the works and read associated program notes, click on the entries in the table below. Compositions are arranged by series, strictly chronologically grouped under the locations where they were made: Utrecht, The Netherlands; Needham, Medford and Gloucester, MA, USA.
